Vichy Neovadiol Gf

By Charlotte on September 1, 2010 8:00 AM

Menopause isn't for the meek. Besides delivering hot flashes, sleepless nights and memory loss, the onslaught of erratic hormones can impact our faces. Declining estrogen levels combined with genetics and sun damage can cause skin to sag, dry out and loose elasticity (and the guys wonder why we're depressed).

For me, that means war. So I've recruited help from new Neovadiol Gf Densifying Re-Sculpting Care for menopausal and post-menopausal skin.

What the Experts Say

How can lower estrogen affect our skin? "Estrogen plays a vital role in collagen production which helps skin elasticity and firmness," explains certified menopause clinician Rebecca Hulem. "However, replacing estrogen after menopause has no appreciative effect in slowing or reversing facial skin sagging."

Instead of relying on estrogen, Vichy Laboratories' Neovadiol Gf combines two key ingredients that promote healthy skin:

·         Pro-Xylane, originally developed by Lancome, to reinforce supporting tissues and replenish moisture

·         Proteic Gf proteins to stimulate skin cell growth factors by significantly improving cellular communication

This patented formula, designed for women ages 50+, reconstructs skin to a denser quality while improving proportions for a visibly younger face. When studied under dermatological control in four different countries, Neovadiol Gf provided results in as little as one month with added improvement after three months of use.

Firmer Neck                 Redefined Jaw              Smoother Lines

One Month:                          6.9%                              12.9%                             7.5%

Three Months:                    17.2%                              25.8%                           17.5%

What I Tested

I tried Vichy Neovadiol Gf Day for normal to combination skin. There's also a daytime formula for dry to very dry skin and a night crème.

Neovadiol Gf targets areas where it's difficult to conceal the signs of time: your neck, jaw line and laugh lines. I'm especially concerned about keeping my neck young looking. Unlike Diane Keaton, I can't pull off turtlenecks and nothing screams your age quite like a wrinkled neck. I've had long discussions about that with the girls in my Bunco group, and we agree moisturizing this area is a must!

Although I live in fear of erupting redness, I felt safe trying the creamy solution because it has been tested on women like me with sensitive skin and allergies. Hinting of rose petals, the lightly scented gel leaves my skin soft and smooth - not sticky or greasy - so my pillowcase is safe. One month after beginning morning and night applications, my skin looks clear. I've had no problems with sensitivity to this antioxidant-rich formula, it has wiped away any sign of dryness, and I rest easier knowing I'm fighting to restore firmness and prevent sagging.

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
