You Could Get a Lift from these Skin Quenchers - FREE

By Charlotte on July 1, 2011 6:35 AM

california-raisins 176.jpgIn my 40s, my skin rebelled. My always-on-the-oily-side complexion did an about-face and seemed to dry out overnight. I never wanted all that shine but YIKES! this was worse.

I had to do something. I wasn't going to start shriveling up like one of those California raisins, without a fight. So I began stockpiling lotions, creams, moisturizers ... an arsenal to hydrate my thirsty skin and (fingers crossed!) keep it from showing my age.

We're giving away three mighty moisture-makers to help take years off your look:

Since we Boomer babes must stick together, Bob and I have teamed up with three innovative beauty experts to give away some skin-tastic moisture-makers that promise to help with this age-defying mission:

Ideal for Boomers, these flattering finds offer extreme hydration that just might lift your spirits as well as your look.

NC image002-1 152.jpgNatural Collagen Inventia Face

Natural Collagen Inventia Face improves your skin's ability to bind with water while creating a protective film to prevent dryness. This moisture maximizer also tightens skin and gently exfoliates to lighten dark spots and even out skin tone.

Recommended for use on the face, neck and décolleté, Natural Collagen Inventia Face promotes smooth, soft skin and can help reduce wrinkles. It's suitable for all skin types, but works especially well for those on the dry, sensitive side. This paraben- and preservative-free, skin-rejuvenating gel is formulated from select skins of fresh water planktonophagous fish that have been rigorously inspected. The proprietary process creates "live," temperature-sensitive collagen compatible to the human DNA.

According to Boca Raton Dermatologist Dr. Laura Skellchock, "Natural Collagen Inventia is the answer to the shortage of collagen that develops as we age. Its unique collagen is durable and easily absorbed into the skin, making it an ideal anti-aging skincare product."

On the Shelf: $106.67 (50 ml) at Collfix.com

Dermacyte Oxygenating Eye Complex

eye_crem_med 152.jpgDermacyte Oxygenating Eye Complex is a breath of fresh air for your eye contour area. This delicate treatment helps turn back the clock by enhancing the skin's hydration, elasticity and smoothness while protecting against environmental stress.

Based on patented oxycyte technology, this lightweight skin quencher improves your eye area's overall appearance by infusing it with high concentrations of oxygen. "Among the many benefits of oxygen is its ability to assist in the production of collagen and elastin which are important elements in the repair and regeneration of skin," says Dr. Gerald Klein, Chief Medical Officer for Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc., a biomedical product development company.

A blend of modern technology and healthy emollients, Dermacyte Oxygenating Eye Complex includes nourishing ingredients like avocado essence, oat kernel, sunflower oil, calming High Ash (an antioxidant-rich tree native to European forests) and Vitamin C. The lightweight solution delivers a cool, moisturizing effect while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Safe for sensitive skin, it also brightens and leaves skin feeling softer and healthier.

Skindinavia 10 Years Younger Makeup Finish

Just the thing to complete your look, Skindinavia's 10 Years Younger hydrates skin, softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When testing it earlier this year, I was surprised to find two to four sprays could turn my makeup into a moisturizing treatment.

10 Years Younger helps hold in moisture so wearing it means you need fewer "touch ups" during the day and your makeup looks better longer. In fact, this moisture magnifier can keep concealer, foundation, blush and eye shadow in place for up to 16 hours

Great for mature skin, the lightweight mist also smoothes and texturizes the makeup surface, helping reduce makeup slippage into pores and fine lines.

On the Shelf: $29 (4 ounces - about a four-month supply) at Skindinavia.com

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
