Win a Chance to Turn Back Time

By Charlotte on October 21, 2011 6:06 AM

Bob and I have had plenty of HIGHS and lows the past 10 years. There were mountain-top moments when our one-and-only son Cole graduated high school then college and we fun-sized to a larger house in Colleywood. And trips to the blackest pit when Bob developed prostate cancer, shattered his heel (probably the toughest bone to break but Bob found a way) and I got the Big "C." Talk about a BUMMER summer!

That's why you couldn't convince me to go back. There's no way I'd repeat the past 10 years, but who wouldn't jump at the chance to turn back the clock on the tricks time plays on our faces?

Anew_Genics_Product_Shot_1 90.jpgThe folks at Avon want to offer five lucky Boomer Babes the chance to do just that. They've joined us to give away their fresh-from-the-lab ANEW Genics Treatment Cream (a $38 value). Introduced in September, this skincare innovation can help you look up to 10 years younger in as little as four weeks.*

Avon's innovative ANEW Genics treatment cream helps women look up to 10 years younger*.

To celebrate its launch, we're giving away five jars of this Boomerlicious skincare breakthrough ... FREE. Click "Read More" for details on how to enter. Contest ends Nov. 3!

*Based on a consumer-perception study of women 45-59 years old.

What the Experts Say

Avon ANEW Genics contains patented YouthGen Technology, the first blend of ingredients designed to stimulate the body's health-inspiring Youth Gene. An increase in this gene's activity boosts proteins that can help skin look younger (based on in vitro testing).

Anew_Genics_Product_Shot_1 450.jpg"We've always known that genetics plays a big role in skin aging, but we thought there was nothing we could do about it. Now, Avon has brought us ANEW Genics," shared Dr. Cheryl Karcher, consulting dermatologist for the ANEW brand.

"I've seen the results of Avon's research and as someone who cares deeply about the advancement of the anti-aging industry, I am so enthusiastic about the clinical results for ANEW Genics and what they mean for the overall future of skincare."

"One of the most exciting areas of research in the scientific field at the moment is in the aspect of longevity. Scientists are studying not only how to extend human lifespan, but also improve the quality of life," explained Dr. Glen Anderson, Executive Director of Global Research and Development. "The incredible breakthrough from the R+D team at Avon is that we've now found a way to leverage this research and apply it directly to anti-aging skincare."

The Results

When used at night as part of an overall ANEW skincare routine, the cream has shown these results in clinical and consumer testing:

*Based on a consumer-perception study of women 45-59 years old.

**Based on a dermatologist assessment of mottled pigmentation in a clinical study on subjects 45-59 years old.

What I Like

This friend-to-aging-skin has a light, clean scent and absorbs quickly so I can set it to working after cleansing my face without Bob (or my pillowcase) even noticing it's there. Afterwards, I get a slight tingling sensation, telling me Genics is at work and leaving my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Since teaming up with this face saver about a month ago, my skin has improved. I may not look 44 yet but my skin seems healthier, I haven't been plagued by unsightly redness (bonus!) and I still have more than half a bottle of Genics to go.

On the Shelf

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
