Looking for Fringe Benefits

By Charlotte on January 13, 2012 6:36 AM

Elizabeth Taylor's trademark violet eyes are still an inspiration. When watching films like A Place in the Sun (always a favorite!), I catch myself wondering how she got those full, thick, drop-dead gorgeous lashes. She had to have help, right?

Look-at-me lashes are easy if you opt for falsies or extensions. But wouldn't it be nice to just wake up with long, feathery eye fringe? And not have to worry about your eyelashes breaking or thinning?

The folks at EnvyDerm want to offer one lucky boomer babe the chance to do just that. They've joined us to give away their gentle Eyelash Growth & Conditioning Serum (a $99.95 value). This safe, nonprescription formula promotes natural eyelash growth to give you longer, fuller, darker lashes.

We're giving away Envyderm, the new nonprescription eyelash growth serum that promotes longer, fuller, darker lashes ... FREE.*

Read on for details on how to enter. Contest ends Jan. 26!

Envyderm 256.jpgWhat is in EnvyDerm?

EnvyDerm is made with active natural ingredients such as bioavailable lipo-oligopeptides that stimulate keratin genes. Powerful SymPeptide technology lengthens and strengthens natural lashes. EnvyDerm uses vitamins, minerals and amino acids to moisturize and nourish lashes and brows. Plus it contains only safe ingredients tested by ophthalmologists without involving animals.

How do you use EnvyDerm?

The EnvyDerm applicator is very similar to a liquid eyeliner applicator. You apply the stimulating serum once a day before bedtime along the upper and lower lash lines. EnvyDerm does not disrupt the daily application of makeup or other skincare routines. And it can be used on brows as well as lashes (bonus!).

When can you expect to see results?

You should begin to see the lash line becoming thicker, fuller and healthier looking in as little as two weeks. In a clinical study, users saw a 25 percent increase in eyelash length during this period. EnvyDerm will continue to provide results over time if used on a consistent basis.

On the Shelf: $99.95 at Envyderm.com, Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Overstock.com

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
