Keep the Focus on Your Eyes ... Free!

By Charlotte on August 10, 2012 6:54 AM

At the ranch last weekend, I had to break one of my top rules and face the world without eye makeup. Not a pretty picture.

Bob said, "Why bother?" We were set to move furniture that scorching Texas morning with no one around for MILES and MILES. And any makeup would melt in a matter of minutes.

So I gritted my teeth, went au naturel and vowed I wouldn't return to our little hideaway without packing some waterproof options. That's why I was thrilled to team up with two top beauty gurus on this eye-inspiring giveaway.

I got hooked on celebrity make-up artist Mally Roncal's cosmetics after trying her Mango lip stain. That stunning, orangey red has been one of my go-to colors this summer because it lasts and lasts. And these eye enhancers promise similar staying power:

Brows that Wow

Nothing lifts your look like beautiful eyebrows. But few of us are born with them! If you're like me and have brows in need of emergency assistance, you'll love this trio from the experts at Beverly Hills' Billion Dollar Brows Salon:

Universal Brow Pencil - No more guessing games! This pencil comes in a taupe shade made to work with all hair colors and skin tones. It provides a gorgeous, natural look, blending just as well into blonde hair as it does with very dark brunette brows. Plus, since it's water-resistant, the color stays in place whether you're working out or caught in the rain (swimming could be another story). And bonus, it's mechanical so you don't need a pencil shBrow image 1 80.jpgarpener. With consistent use, the Universal Brow Pencil lasts about three months.

Brow Gel - You wouldn't leave the house with messy hair, why settle for messy brows? This clear gel offers hold and cBrow image 3 80.jpgontrol to lock in your look. The perfect finishing touch, it gives eyebrows a hint of shine while keeping them in place all day. Even better, it never flakes or makes brows look crusty.

Tweezers - Pure precision. Favored by the pros, these exclusive tweezers of the Billion Dollar Brows Salon are made of specially coated stainless steel to simplify this tiresome job.

On the Shelf: $14.95 Brow Pencil, $15 Brow Gel and $20 tweezers at BillionDollarBrows.com

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
