Like many Boomers, I have a concert bucket list. I've been fortunate enough to live long enough to see many of my favorite performers live in concert (Dylan, CSNY, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, etc.) but there are a few names I haven't checked off my list. Notable among these remaining scratch-offs is Diana Krall. Charlotte and I will remedy THAT little oversight this May when she blows through Dallas/Fort Worth with her 2013 tour.
I'm a BIG fan of the sultry sounds of the soulful Ms. Krall. She's got a voice that's smoother than a Ketle One martini (two olives, please) served straight up at the perfect temperature. If you're a fan - or there's some unexplainable reason why you haven't discovered her sound - then do yourself a favor and catch one of her shows. She's got a pretty extensive tour put together and you can see the dates and venues by clicking here.
If, however, you're like me and could use just a taste of this sweet songstress, check out her version of the Burt Bacharach classic The Look of Love. If this doesn't send you in search of a ticket to her next show, then there's just not much I can do for you.
Playing Favorites is a column where Charlotte and I pull back the curtain on our Boomer lives to show you what we're into these days. It may be a movie we've discovered. A new restaurant. Great food. Interesting drink. A song we can't get out of our heads...it could be anything. It's all about discovery and the stuff that makes us happy. So, step inside our world and let us show you around. Don't mind the dust, the housekeeper comes on Thursday.
