Now with more wood!
Bob and I have a busy summer on tap. It'll start in New York City with museums, Broadway and an overdue visit with our one-and-only-son Cole. (You know Mama's excited about that!) And end in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where we'll kick back and relax on one of the Red Neck Rivera's prettiest, white-sand beaches. In between, we'll be staycationing with my baby sister Pam and her crew during their annual pilgrimage to Texas. What fun!
Whether you're jetting away, unwinding close to home or doing both like us, you'll adore these 22 vacation-perfect picks. They're cute, comfy and versatile enough to carry you from a backyard barbeque in Big D to a night out in NYC.
Boasting one of summer's hottest colors, these cobalt blue-infused pieces from Kohl's are both trendy and wallet friendly.
Apt. 9 Fit & Flare Scuba Dress - White with lovely touches of blue, green and light pink, this cool, Betty Draper-approved style reminds me of a Monet watercolor. It's surprisingly easy to wear, sliding on without a struggle or the need for buttons, a zipper or a helping hand (just be sure to put this one on before fixing your hair!).
The machine-washable, polyester + spandex fabric helps the full, pleated skirt keep its shape, stretches with you and removes any worry of wrinkling. You also get two, big pockets wonderful for toting your cell and keys if you want to pop down the street for a minute minus your purse.
Wear it with flats for running errands. Add jewelry, a belt, a tote and heels and you're ready for date night. Bob actually complimented this outfit and I didn't even have to ask him how it looked! Now, that's a keeper!
One of the best things about getting older is that you get to say things like "They don't make music like THAT anymore!" And since we're Baby Boomers and saw everyone from Jimi Hendrix to the still-touring Rolling Stones - we're usually right.
Guess you could say they saw him coming.
Watching CBS's The Good Wife often leaves me lusting over Julianna Margulies' stunning outfits. They're elegant, totally put together and a perfect way of saying she means business.
So I was thrilled to have an opportunity to chat with the man behind her look, Emmy-nominated costume designer Daniel Lawson. He shared some of his secrets to dressing the characters on this popular show as well as his top fashion tips for Baby Boomers.
It will, however, give you 9 lives if you drink it.
It's the time of year when Boomer parents everywhere sit for hours at graduation ceremonies.
We all share the same bond: counting the seconds until OUR KID walks across the stage. It's Dante's Inferno in an air conditioned coliseum.
Outside of watching your son or daughter grab that fake diploma (the real ones will be in the mail soon!) the only thing that has even the slightest chance of keeping you awake is the COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS.
We've heard the bad ones (DREAM BIG! - YOUR'E THE FUTURE!) and read about the great ones (the fake Kurt Vonnegut commencement springs to mind). Forget that stuff. Everything you learned in the past four years is wrong. Here's some advice you can really use.
When I told you my mom was inflexible, I meant it.
Christie Brinkley stole the show when she starred in National Lampoon's Vacation in the 80s. And she's still hot after all these years, thanks in part to a to-die-for complexion. You'd never guess she's 61!
So when I heard she'd collaborated on a new anti-aging skincare line, I couldn't wait to give it a try.
