Nine West Myth

The disco music we loved in the '70s may be gone but the platform shoes are back in a big way, and the heels are higher than ever.

At under $70, Nine West's Myth platform wedge offers a cute, comfortable way to try this trend without breaking the bank.  This dreamy, day-to-night sandal features an open toe and adjustable ankle strap that adds a touch of funk to dresses, skirts, jeans, rolled-up pants and even shorts.

The approximately one-inch platform fronting these sexy shoes takes any sting out of the extreme, four-inch heel.  In fact, thanks to this raised-toe area, you may totally forget you're on gravity-defying heels, like I did, until you start admiring them in the mirror!

The two-tone design features sleek patent atop caramel-colored rubber. Choose neutral Black or bright Meyer Lemon (my personal favorite) patent and this chic shoe will go with anything.  For more of a wardrobe pick-me-up, try pink-hued Watermelon.

You can get the Black Myth online at Nine West for $49.99 plus shipping.  Or for free shipping and free returns, try Piperlime, where you can find Black as well as the brighter colors for $69.99.  Here you can also use your Banana Republic, Gap or Old Navy credit card and earn reward points in the process.

Whatever your choice, Nine West's Myth sandal will have you stepping out in style.  Who knows, you may even move to a disco beat!

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
