Shop It To Me

By Charlotte on August 21, 2009 11:49 AM

I admit it.  I love to shop but hate paying full price.

I'm no Rebecca (Confessions of a Shopaholic) but I refuse to buy most things unless a deal helps justify the spending. (Bob doesn't ask but I'm prepared - just in case.)

SITM logo.JPGThis is especially true for clothes so I've signed up for email alerts from more retailers than I can remember (though Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and J Crew immediately pop to mind).  However, these inbox-clogging messages often waste my time because their bargains just aren't my size!

Things would be simpler if I had help from say Stacy and Clinton of TLC's What Not to Wear.  They could filter the information, show me only things most likely to fit, and save me loads of frustration.

As luck would have it, that's the idea behind Shopittome.com.  This FREE online service is the next best thing to having a personal shopper. Like any good assistant, they get to know you before starting work and follow instructions to the letter.

You determine:

§         The schedule - Should sale emails arrive daily, Monday and Thursday as recommended, or another day of the week?

§         What's In - Are you looking for women's, men's, running or children's clothing?  Want to see dresses, jewelry, sunglasses or shoes?  Not interested in these, don't worry, you can choose from about 20 other categories.

§         Who You'll Wear - The 600+ brand names possible include everyone from Ann Taylor Loft to Zac Posen.

§         A Flattering Fit - Are you regular or petite?  What's your size in tops, bottoms, shoes and intimate apparel?

§         Discount Dollars - Is $200 the limit or what's the most you'll pay? Want at least a 20 percent discount or more?

You can be precise, like me, requesting 7 For All Mankind or Joe's Jeans in size 25 with at least a 20 percent discount.  Or cast a wider net.  In either case, Shop It To Me follows through delivering sale rundowns as planned with only the items right for you. Pieces are organized by retailer and include any codes needed to reap the specified discount.

If you like what you see, simply click through to the retailer's site where you'll want to check out shipping and return policies before completing the order. You can also tell your friends.  Refer 10 and you'll score a $10 gift card to Banana Republic, Gap, J Crew or any of about seven other stores. And you can change your settings plus pause or unsubscribe to the service at any time.

Ready to get started?  Go to www.Shopittome.com and relax while they do the legwork to find you the best buys!

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
