IT Cosmetics New Confidence in a Compact

Some beauty bloggers try any and everything. But I'm pretty picky about what I test, especially if I'll be putting it on my face. Unfortunately, I'm on the sensitive side and making a wrong choice could (and has) cost me days, even weeks of recovery time. Yikes!

That's why I'm big on brands I know and trust like IT Cosmetics. They're one of my fav anti-aging makeup and skincare lines. Think Bye Bye Lines Serum, SuperHero Mascara and much more. The folks at IT work with doctors to develop serious beauty solutions based on ingredients that are both cutting edge and good for your skin.

So when I heard about their new Confidence in a Compact, I said "Sign me up!" Great for all skin types, including easily-irritated ones like mine, this smart multi-tasking formula combines an easy-on foundation, skin-friendly anti-aging serum and powerful sunscreen in one simple step.

What the Experts Say

Developed with plastic surgeons, this clinically shown, solid anti-aging treatment is infused with full-coverage pigments and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen. It's designed to rejuvenate, repair and restore your complexion. Hydrolyzed collagen and hyaluronic acid plump skin and fill in lines and wrinkles while antioxidants, a super ceramide cream and other age-fighting ingredients pour on moisture, improve texture and even skin tone.

You'll see powerful results instantly and more dramatic changes over time. In a clinical study, 100% of the participants reported improved skin barrier repair, 97% noticed immediate skin hydration benefits, 94% said it helped even their skin tone and 90% saw enhanced skin texture.

What I Tested

I tried IT Cosmetics Light Confidence in a Compact and Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush.

What I like

Confidence in a Compact does everything you'd expect from a first-class foundation and much, much more.

This lightweight, skin friend goes on smooth, blends well and layers easily so you can build just the right amount of coverage. One coat is usually perfect for my chin and cheeks but I swipe on a little extra around my nose and over any blotchy spots. It's even helped me avoid using as much concealer under my eyes. Confidence in a Compact doesn't cake up or sink into my lines and emphasize them like some bases I've tried. The look lasts all day and protects me from the sun's harsh rays, which can add to signs of aging.

I love the burst of moisture I get from this concentrated complexion rescuer. In addition to helping me hide redness and other discolorations, this Boomer Babe-licioius buy gives my skin a nice glow and reduces the look of pesky booboos, pores and, yes, even wrinkles.

You can apply it with the included sponge or IT's new Heavenly Skin brush - my choice for a truly flawless finish.

The hairs on this skin-smoothing choice are filled with anti-aging collagen, silk, peptides, niacin and antioxidants so you get beautiful results every time.

heavenly_skin_brush_RGB_V5_nr 600.jpgThe Light shade has worked wonders for me but you can choose from six other, gorgeous universal colors (Fair, Medium, Medium Tan, Tan, Rich and Deep). The good-for-you ingredients in this anti-aging treatment leave my sensitive skin smiling. Plus, as a bonus, the innovative airtight compact lid helps the formula stay as fresh as the day I opened it.

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
