Buckshot Wireless Speaker

By Bob on September 19, 2013 5:16 AM

I've been looking for a good rugged outdoor wireless speaker for a while. If I'm cranking up Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (you haven't lived until you've heard my Bob Dylan-Tom Petty version of Refugee) down at the ranch, I need a wireless speaker that can bounce around in a 4-wheel-drive jeep across rocks and cactus and still blast out the tunes.

I found exactly what I was looking for with the Buckshot Wireless Speaker.

The Buckshot is a super rugged and water-resistant wireless speaker by Outdoor Tech. It's loaded with features like an included bike mount, a microphone for calls and a shock-resistant body.

Its rugged, rubberized exterior means that it's no big deal if you drop it and the built-in speakerphone and microphone let you have hands-free calls wherever you want (even on top of Charlotte Mountain).

The included bicycle mount allows you to mount the Buckshot to your bicycle handlebars (I strap it to my ammo box) or anything else with a similar profile.

I don't always listen to Buck Owens, but when I do, everybody in Cranfils Gap knows it.Ranch View-600.jpg

I like the fact that it wirelessly connects with my iPhone, iPod and iPad and any other Bluetooth-enabled device. It streams rock-solid audio up to 32 feet for 10 hours on a single charge. The Buckshot rocks with a rich, full sound that's perfect when I'm listening to Dwight Yoakum on the ranch patio.

You want specs? The Buckshot:

* Wirelessly connects to any Bluetooth-enabled device

* Comes with a mount accessory (ammo box NOT included)

* Is dust and waterproof (just don't drop it in the stock tank and expect it to work)

* Has a rugged, minimal design

* Uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery

* Allows 16 hours of hi-fi sound or talk time

* Has a range of up to 33 feet from device

Total cost for all of this wireless wonderfulness is less than $50. If you like to take your tunes outside, then grab a Buckshot Wireless Speaker and get going. We give the Buckshot 5 (out of 5) shotgun shells.

Thanks to Outdoor Tech for providing the Buckshot for this review.

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
