Win a Body-Pampering Prize Pack from Crabtree & Evelyn

By Charlotte on June 20, 2014 1:14 AM

Magnolia blossoms may be the state flower of Louisiana but we Texans are wild about them too. Their heavenly scent reminds me of home because Bob and I had magnolias in our yard for many years. Bringing those citrusy sweet-smelling flowers indoors was a treat we looked forward to every spring. Ahhhhh!

Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy that luscious scent whenever you're in the mood? Thanks to the folks at Crabtree & Evelyn, one lucky Boomer Babe will be able to do just that. We've teamed up with them to give away a $109 gift set including four of their new Pear and Pink Magnolia body and hand care indulgences.

We're giving away four favorites from Crabtree & Evelyn's new Pear and Pink Magnolia body and hand care collection ($109 value). The prize package includes Eau de Toilette, Body Wash and Body Lotion (pictured below) plus Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy.

In this fruity floral fragrance, the perfume-like aroma of juicy red pear mingles with the creamy lemon, floral scent of pink magnolia. Hints of passion fruit, bergamot, jasmine, apricot-scented osmanthus and the violet tones of orris (oil extracted from iris roots) make the combination highly addictive.

Together, the delicious pear and delicate magnolia set a tone that's energizing yet soothing and sensual. Ooh la la!

And with our body-pampering prize package, you can cleanse, smooth and spritz your skin with that playfully elegant pairing. The gift set includes these four favorites:

Gentle yet effective, the soap-free body wash is a refreshing treat that cleans and moisturizes your skin. Love a relaxing soak? Pour this multi-tasking gel under warm, running water for a delightful time out. Or, if you're like me and always rushed, prepare to enjoy the suds in the shower. Either way, you're ensured a deep cleansing, conditioning experience. (250mL $20)

Drenching your skin with the lightweight, everyday lotion is pure pleasure. It glides on effortlessly and absorbs quickly so you don'Pear and Pink Magnolia EDT2 75.jpgt have to worry about it clinging to your clothes. Afterwards, your skin's soft, silky smooth and subtly scented. (250mL $22)

Eau de Toilette

This intoxicating mist can be your bestie for day or date night. Although wonderful alone, I simply adore using a dab of this girlie scent as the finishing touch to a complete Pear and Pink Magnolia routine. Don't you just love layering? (100mL $47)

Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy Pear & Pink Magnolia 100g Hand Therapy 75.jpg

This intensive conditioning cream is a must try, even if you're not all that into hand lotion. I've been known to avoid hand creams because (a) I'm always at the keyboard AND (b) my hands look for any excuse to sweat (sorry if that is too much information!).

But rubbing on just a little of this wonder treatment makes my hands nice and soft without leaving any trace of slickness. In fact, they seem to look and feel better each time I use it. Shea butter and macadamia nut oil sooth and moisturize skin while myrrh nourishes cuticles and nails. (100g $20)

Prepare your own Mexican quick fix with this Chipotle-inspired bowl. Carbs are moderated by filling the bowl with beans, extra veggies and chicken. No need for rice, since the beans count as carbs.

Tips:

If you love tomatoes, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup, but note that the carbohydrates will also increase.

If preparing this recipe for one person, cut all of the ingredients in half. Or simply prepare the full recipe up to the end of step 2 and store leftover chicken and vegetable-bean mixture in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, and continue with step 3.

Health Bite: The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc in black beans help to keep bones strong and healthy.
